RUGBY WORLD CUP 2027 X HOST CITIES UNVEIL

On January 30, Rugby World Cup Australia 2027 had its first major media moment with the official announcement of host cities, fixtures and venues for the tournament’s opening and final matches.

The event featured the Webb Ellis Cup, along with key speeches and insights from World Rugby,  Rugby Australia, and NSW Government representatives, highlighting the tournament’s social and economic impact nationwide.

Following the event, the official press release and assets were distributed, amplifying the announcement and driving national momentum for the tournament.

PR Deliverables and Approach:

  • Raising Awareness:  Generate national excitement for RWC’s return to Australia, spotlighting the host cities and country’s reputation as a premier host of global sporting events.

  • Secure Positive Coverage: Drive widespread, high-impact media coverage across national and international outlets through targeted outreach.

  • Deliver Compelling Content: Capture and distribute high-quality assets to extend the event’s reach.

The goal was to set up Rugby World Cup 2027 up for success, igniting national and global interest that establishes a strong foundation for future tournament milestones. Our role for this project involved media relations and management, stakeholder and supplier briefings, event coordination, Webb Ellis Cup content capture, facilitation of interviews to amplify the milestone message and post-event reporting.
