REBEL X STEPHEN CURRY ROOFTOP COURT LAUNCH

Fifteen years into his career, Under Armour athlete, Stephen Curry is at the top of his game and now, the ‘Stephen Curry Court’ has found a fitting home on the (roof) top of the new rebel rCX store at The Emporium, Melbourne.

The Curry Rooftop Court is a permanent fixture at the store and features specially commissioned murals and designs by local Melbourne artist Rory Lynch-Wells, that pay homage to the four-time NBA Champion.

The Curry Rooftop Court will allow hoopers and the sneaker community to test out their basketball skills and footwear at rebel and will serve as an inspiration for the future generation of athletes.

As part of the new store opening celebrations, SPEAK worked closely with Under Armour and rebel to deliver an event to launch the Curry Rooftop Court via a series of activations and experiences.

The event was hosted by NBL Champion and Sports Broadcaster Peter Hooley who led panel discussions with Under Armour and basketball athletes and personalities. With dunking displays, ‘Curry Shot Clock Challenge’ competition, DJ, basketball trivia, prize giveaways and meet and greets with some of Australia’s finest basketball talent, it was an event that hoopers won’t want to miss.

Talent included:

  • Maddison Rocci: Australian Opal, Southside Flyers WNBL co-captain and UA Athlete

  • Ian Clark: NBL & NBA Champion - including 2017 GSW win alongside Steph Curry

  • Kristy Wallace: Australian Opal, WNBA player with the Indiana Fever and Melbourne Boomers WNBL co-captain
