CURRY BRAND TAKES OVER MELBOURNE

IT WAS A “GOOD” DAY!

Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour took over Princes Garden Court in Prahran, Melbourne to mark the launch of the seven-part footwear collection that brings the spirit of Sesame Street’s iconic Muppets to the basketball court. The outdoor event was free and open to the public to attend, with 3-Point competition running throughout the day, as well music, entertainment and live art.

The Curry-branded court played centre stage to the consumer “Shoot Like Steph” competition and Charity Bounce Challenge.

SPEAK Communications recruited NBA Champion and NBL MVP Andrew Bogut, UFC Featherweight Champion Alex Volkanovski, former Harlem Globetrotter Tracy Williams, former professional basketballer Corey “Homicide” Williams, former Australian netballer Carla Dziwoki, ex rugby league footballer and TV personality Eloni Vunakece and presenter Karen Ledbury to take part in the Charity Bounce Challenge in an effort to #ChangeTheGameForGood. They raised a whopping $10,000 – funds that will go straight to Charity Bounce’s crucial basketball engagement, mentoring and employment programs and education pathways.

We saw some talented shooters over the day; congratulations to Zoe Zwerling for taking out the #ShootLikeSteph 3-Point competition and earning herself a sweet 10,000.

The event truly was a celebration of the neighbourhood and the Melbourne community that is at the heart of basketball culture.
